Working closely with the Art Department at Barnardo's Meadow School in Kent, I used creative placemaking and playful installation-making to help a cohort of pupils safely explore their relationships with the landscape, nature, and one another. Working with Year 6 pupils, we investigated social and spatial dynamics beyond the traditional classroom environment. Through den-building and the creation of hideaway spaces, we explored ideas of form, social interaction, narrative, and performance while making full use of the school's expansive 19-acre site. These sessions provided valuable respite for pupils who have experienced significant challenges in their young lives, offering opportunities for creativity, connection, and a sense of belonging in nature.

Through the project, the work was documented by the children and posted to a blog.
