In 2016, my husband and I became custodians of 3.5 acres of land in north Suffolk - lovingly know as 'Down The Back' as the parcel stretches beyond the parameters of the house's normal garden. We now have approximately 1.5 acres in food production, interspaced with medical herbs, pollinator beds and our young son's garden. The rest is meadow space, which houses our chickens and bee hives and has gradually been planted with fruit, nut and deciduous trees - with over 100 planted to date.

I have gathered observations of its evolution as we work to enhance biodiversity, deepen our connection to the landscape, and produce low-impact food for both our family and the wildlife it supports.

These observations are an attempt to capture the essence of the land and its natural rhythms - a living, evolving work. They begin to trace the shifting sounds, colours, scents, and tastes that move through the seasons, revealing a landscape in constant transformation and renewal.
